Ingredients
  

for potato filling :

  • 1 cup + 1/2 cup potato peeled, boiled & mashed
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tsp chat masala
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

for aloo toast sandwich:

preparing the filling for aloo toast :

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • Add mashed and boiled potatoes in a bowl.
  • Then add chopped onions and coriander leaves.
  • Now add all spice powders like chat masala, cumin powder, red chilli powder, and salt.
  • Lastly, add lemon juice.
  • Mix it well making sure to combine all together. Keep aside.

making aloo toast sandwich :

  • Take 3 slices of bread on a plain surface or on a board.
  • Then spread some butter on all the 3 bread slices.
  • Now on one slice of buttered bread apply cheese spread or top up with some grated cheese or place a cheese slice.
  • On the second slice of buttered bread apply green chutney.
  • Top the mashed potato mixture on top of the cheese.
  • Place a toasted slice on top. Butter and green chutney have been spread on this slice.
  • Place 3 to 4 slices each of tomatoes.
  • Cover with another buttered bread slice and press gently.
  • In a preheated grill, place the sandwich carefully with the buttered side facing at the bottom.
  • Then grill or toast adding some butter.
  • Close the griller and grill the sandwiches till the cheese melts and bread turn golden brown.
  • Remove the grilled sandwiches.
  • Spread some butter on the hot toast sandwich and cut the bread into the half or into desired size and shape.
  • Serve aloo toast sandwich hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Notes

  • You can use white bread, brown bread or any bread of your choice. 
  • Any veggie of your choice can also be added to the sandwich.
  • If you are packing this for your kid’s lunch box, cut these sandwiches in half. If you are serving these as a party snack, cut into bite-size pieces.
  • You can make the potato filling spicy, by adding some green chilies.
  • You can also use finely chopped veggies in the potato filling.
  • If you are making for kids, skip using green chutney instead use tomato ketchup or tamarind chutney.
