Cheese Burst Pizza recipe is a unique and popular pizza type which has a thick crust with yummy liquid or molten cheese inside. The topping and the spread used in this recipe is very similar to any other pizza, but is filled with molten cheese in it in India, the recipe was introduced and popularised by the dominos.

As a matter, of course, there has been several variation and fusion to this italian cuisine. One such commercially successful fast food recipe is cheese burst pizza recipe introduced and marketed by the indian dominos franchise.

The processed cheese melts when subject to heat as compared to mozzarella or cheddar cheese. Hence it is ideal to be used in the pizza which melts during the baking process.

Cheese Burst Pizza Recipe | how to make Domino’s Cheese Burst Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

for pizza dough:

  • 1 +1/2 cup All purpose flour/maida
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp water if required
  • 2 tbsp dry flour for dusting

for toppings:

  • 2 tbsp Pizza sauce /tomato ketchup
  • Cheese spread as required
  • Mozzarella cheese as required
  • few onions slices
  • few tomato slices deseeded
  • few capsicum slices
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 chilli flakes
  • 2 tsp oil

Instructions

preparing pizza dough:

  • 1.Collect all the required ingredients.
  • 2.In a large mixing bowl mix  warm water,  sugar and dry yeast.
  • 3..Rest for 10-15 minutes and allow the yeast to activate.
  • 4.Now add  maida and  salt.
  • 5.Mix all of these together to make a dough.
  • 6.Using hands knead a soft dough adding more water if required. ( I had to do as well)
  • 7.Now take the dough from bowl and place it on a big plate or a kitchen board.
  • 8.On top of the dough, add 2 tbsp of butter.
  • 9.And start kneading the dough at least for 5-6 minutes.
  • 10.You will notice how the texture of dough starts changing as you kneaded.
  • 11.After about 6 mins, the dough is ready.
  • 12.Form a ball and Keep it in a bowl.
  • 13.Cover the bowl tightly with cling wrap or plastic wrap and rest for about 2 hours at warm place.

preparing cheese burst pizza:

  • 1.Punch the dough with fist to release down the air and knead slightly.
  • 2.Dust the board with some flour, place the dough on it and coat it well.
  • 3.Divide the dough in 3:1 ratio or you can say into 3/4 portion and 1/4 portion. (2 balls – 1 large and another small one).
  • 4.Place the larger dough ball on dusted non-stick pan or tawa.  Alternatively use cornmeal for more crunchy texture.
  • 5.Flatten the dough by stretching with both hands.
  • 6.Pizza Base is ready. Keep it aside.
  • 7.Dust the board with some more flour, place small ball and roll slightly thick and make sure the size is smaller than the pizza base.
  • 8.Then prick with centre of dough with the help of fork to prevent from fluffing up like chapati.
  • 9.Roast the small disc on the non-stick tawa from both sides till half cook both sides making sure not to cook completely. (only take few seconds).Keep aside.
  • 10.Now spread cheese spread  over the pizza base leaving a border.( here I have used 4 tbsp of cheese spread).
  • 11.Place the half cooked roti over cheese placed pizza base.
  • 12.Get the sides closer and seal tight making sure there is no gap for the cheese to ooze out.
  • 13.Now seal around the corners pricking the corners using fork.
  • 14.Once it is sealed spread the sauce over the top layer leaving the sides slightly.
  • 15.Then grate  generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the base.
  • 16.Top with veggies like tomato, capsicum and onions slices.
  • 17.Also sprinkle chilli flakes and oregano.
  • 18.Then apply oil over the sides of pizza . This helps pizza crust to turn crispy and golden brown.
  • 19.Place it on stove, cover with a lid and allow to cook on low flame till the cheese melts completely. Alternatively you can bake in oven in 500 degrees fahrenheit or 200 to 250 degree celsius for about 10-12 minutes.
  • 20.After 15 minutes, the cheese burst pizza looks ready  and is perfectly baked.
  • 21.Turn off the flame, open the lid and before taking it out, let it rest for 5-10 minutes.(its because it is a cheese burst pizza not a regular pizza, so it is very hot inside and the cheese will be very melty inside).
  • 22.After about 10 minutes, cut it and serve it. The reason to wait was it because there was a lot of cheese inside it, it can flow out completely and it will be very hot as well so it was save to wait about few minutes.
  • 23.Finally, cheese burst pizza is absolutely ready and doesn't that look delicious .

recipe notes:

  • Pricking the dough is very important.
  •  The more cheese you add, the more gooeyness you get on your pizza.
  • You can top it what ever filling you like.
  • Brush  oil over the sides of pizza crust to make pizza crust more crispy and golden brown.
  • Freeze the leftover dough in an airtight container or zip lock bag greasing with oil. the dough stays fresh for atleast a month.
  • Also knead the dough well, else pizza will be chewy.
  • Cover the pizza with a lid else the cheese do not melt easily.
