Cheese Corn Canapes Recipe

Cheese Corn Canapes is buttered and crisped bread roundels are topped with an awesome mix of veggies, mayonnaise, and cheese.

These canapés look dainty but they spell excitement! While the eggless mayonnaise gives a luscious mouth-feel, the black pepper powder gives a peppy taste to the Cheese Corn Canapé.

Make sure you grill the bread properly, otherwise they will become soft and not have the required crispness. The Cheese Corn Canapés can be served as a starter at parties.

#Serving Suggestion:  Serve cheese corn canapes hot as alone. It can also be made for a picnic or small party.

Ingredients
  

for the topping :

  • 1/2 cup sweet corn boiled
  • 1/4 cup spring onions whites and greens finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp cheese spread
  • 1 tbsp eggless mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste

extras :

  • 8 whole wheat bread slices
  • 2 tsp butter for grilling
  • 1/4 tsp oregano for sprinkling
  • 1/4 tsp chilli flakes for sprinkling

Instructions
 

preparing the topping:

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • Take a bowl and add boiled sweet corn.
  • Then add chopped spring whites and greens.
  • Also, add salt, black pepper powder, and eggless mayonnaise.
  • Lastly, add cheese spread.
  • Mix it very well and keep aside.

making the canapes:

  • Take a slice of bread and pierce the bread slice into the round with a cookie cutter or a small bowl.
  • Cut all the bread slices into the rounds and these slice bread edges can be pulsed or ground to breadcrumbs.
  • Heat a pan and add 1/2 tsp butter in it.
  • Place the 4 pieces of bread and grill them till it turns lightly golden and crisp.
  • Once done, flip it and switch off the flame.
  • Now place 1 tsp of the preparing mixture on top of each bread.
  • Spread it evenly on the bread.
  • Add 1/2 tsp butter in the pan and turn on the flame.
  • Cover with a lid and allow to cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes or till the cheese melts completely.
  • Once the cheese melts and the bread base is crispy, switch off the flame.
  • Before serving, sprinkle oregano and chili flakes.
  • Serve this hot cheese corn canapes immediately.

How To Make Corn Canapes (Step By Step Instructions With Photos) :

Recipe Notes :

  • You can change toppings as per your choice as you can also use add grated carrot.
  • You need to be careful while assembling. Don’t make this recipe prior if you are not serving it immediately after making. The main reason behind this is, your bread will become soggy due to the moisture of vegetables.
  • I have used whole wheat bread for this recipe. You can use any type of bread.
  • Instead of cheese spread, you can also use grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese.
  • Use salt very less as cheese, oregano, and eggless mayonnaise contain salt.
