Corn cheese sandwich recipe | how to make grilled sweet corn sandwich

Corn cheese sandwich is an excellent snack for tea time or for lunch box too. Quite filling with favorite sweet corn and cheese. I love the combo corn and cheese. Easy corn cheese sandwich is a perfect vegetable sandwich and easy and tasty breakfast recipe.

A healthy and tasty sandwich recipe prepared mainly with sweet corn and grated cheese stuffing. It is a quick and ideal sandwich recipe especially with kids for their tiffin box or lunch box. The combination of sweet corn and other spices provides a sweet and savory taste to this simple sandwich recipe.

There are numerous ways a sandwich can be made using various ingredients. This corn cheese sandwich is made using mozzarella cheese but can be made using even paneer or cream cheese.

Serving suggestion: Serve corn cheese sandwich hot with green chutney, tomato ketchup or some cheesy dip. It can be served for breakfast or as a snack.

CORN CHEESE SANDWICH RECIPE

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices white bread
  • 1/2 cup boiled sweet corn
  • 2 tbsp onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp capsicum finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese grated
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • In a mixing bowl, add boiled sweet corn, capsicum, tomato, onion, chili flakes, and salt.
  • Then add grated cheese.
  • Mix well combining all the ingredients well. Keep aside.
  • Take your bread slice and apply butter over a bread slice.
  • Arrange the corn cheese stuffing over the buttered bread slice. The stuffing should be on the higher side so make a thick layer.
  • Again take another bread slice spread butter over it.
  • Cover on top with the slice of bread and press it gently.
  • Heat a non-stick tawa and melt butter on hot tawa on medium heat.
  • Once hot place the sandwich on the tawa.
  • Lower the flame, grill till sandwich is golden brown in color and press down the bread slices with a spatula.
  • Toast until the sandwich crisp from both sides and has a nice brown color.
  • Once done, cut into triangles to serve.
  • Serve the hot corn cheese toast with tomato sauce or some cheesy dip.

4. Mix well combining all the ingredients well. Keep aside.

5. Take your bread slice and apply butter over a bread slice.

recipe notes:

  • Use any bread of your choice, I used white bread.
  • You can use black pepper powder instead of chili flakes.
  • Mozzarella works best. Or if you are convenient with other types of cheese, you can use.
  • You can cut down or increase the quantity of butter to taste and preference. Although I would like to mention that butter helps in grilling the bread nicely. So if you want those crispy grilled sandwiches, use more butter.
  • Spread eggless mayonnaise instead of butter over a bread slice if serving for kids.
  • Add finely chopped green chili for a more spicy sandwich.
  • To keep sandwich light skip adding cheese.
  •  If using frozen corn and put them in hot water for few minutes before adding to the stuffing.
