EGGLESS BREAD OMELETTE RECIPE

Ingredients

for the batter :

  • 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 3 tbsp all purpose flour (maida)
  • Salt as required
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup water or add as required

for omelette :

  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium size tomato finely chopped
  • 3 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Butter as required
  • 4 bread slices

Instructions

preparing the batter for eggless bread omelette :

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • In a bowl, take besan and maida.
  • Then add salt, red chilli powder, and black pepper powder.
  • Mix it well.
  • Add water little by little.
  • Whisk smooth till there are no lumps in the batter.
  • Make sure the batter is smooth flowing consistency.
  • Add baking powder.
  • Mix it in the batter.
  • The batter is ready to make bread omelette.

making eggless bread omelette :

  • Heat a wide pan and add butter in it.
  • Once butter is melted, add chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, and coriander leaves.
  • Saute it for a few seconds on medium flame.
  • Add a one ladle or one and a half ladle (according to pan size) batter to the pan.
  • Tilt and spread the batter.
  • Let it cook for a few seconds, place one bread in the middle.
  • Then flip bread again. This is for the bread to coat with the batter.
  • Sprinkle some chopped onion and green chillies on the top of the bread.
  • Let the omelette cook from one side. It may take (approx.) 2 minutes on medium flame.
  • When the batter starts to dry, then flip it along with the bread to another side.
  • Cook the other side as well for a few seconds.
  • Once it is cooked properly, tuck on the omelette inside.
  • Switch off the flame and transfer it to a plate.

  • Continue the same for other bread slices.
  • Serve this eggless bread omelette hot or warm with tomato ketchup.
