Falahari Aloo Tikki is a simple snack recipe to enjoy during vrats or fasts. Vrat Aloo Tikki with crisp outside soft inside is a real treat to taste buds at any time. It’s so delicious that just name itself gets digestive juices flowing in the mouth once you have tasted it.

Crispy Shallow Fried Aloo tikki is so lip-smacking that you will crave for more and more. These tikkis can also be consumed during fasts. Today make Crispy and super delicious Falahari Aloo Tikki. These fried dumplings of water chestnut flour, spices and potatoes make a great food during fast.

Here’s the easy step by step recipe with pictures to follow. You can make Falahari Aloo Tikki for Navratri or any other fast which are crispy from outside and prepared very easily with boiled potatoes, atta and other ingredients. Serve them steaming hot with and falahari chutney and relish eating. Everyone will like this savory dish for sure. Enjoy!

I like my aloo tikki really crisp from outside. Now I always had a complaint with homemade aloo tikki, they never turned out crispy like the outside ones but not anymore! You can make really crispy aloo tikki at home by following these procedures.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Boiled & Peeled Potato
  • 3 tbsp Singhare ke atta (Water Chestnut Flour)
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2-3 tbsp Coriander leaves Chopped
  • Rock Salt to taste (sendha namak)
  • 1 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 4 tbsp Oil for Cooking

Instructions
 

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • Grate the potatoes. I find it easier to grate the potatoes and then mash them.
  • Then add all the ingredients like sea salt, black pepper powder, singhara atta, green chili, coriander leaves.
  • Just mix everything very well using hands. It should form like a dough.
  • Divide the mixture into small or medium shaped balls. Grease your hands with some oil and shape the tikki as desired. Flatten them and make the aloo tikki.
  • Do the same with the remaining tikkis.
  • Heat oil till its medium hot in a tava or a shallow frying pan and place the aloo tikkis and pan fry them.
  • When one side of tikki becomes golden and crisp, turn over and fry the other side of tikki.
  • Gently flip for a couple of times till the aloo tikkis are golden and crisp evenly.
  • Delicious Falahari Aloo tikki is ready. You can serve it with curd, falahari green coriander chutney, or peanut chutney.

how to make vrat aloo tikki (step by step directions with photos) :

1. Collect all the required ingredients.

4. Just mix everything very well using hands. It should form like a dough.

recipe notes :

  • You can take buckwheat flour or araroot when not making for fasts.
  • You can also add coarsely ground peanuts.
  • Do not cook on low heat, tikkies will become greasy and will not be as crispy.
  • It takes 5 minutes to roast this tikkis.
  • You can make this tikki, with any oil used during fasts.
  • If you prefer more spices during fast, you can add it.
