Fruit chaat recipe is one the easiest and quickest salad to put together. It can be served as a meal on its own or at the end of a meal or as a mid-day snack.

What’s better than fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables—skins peeled, of course—hollowed out and topped with salty tangy spices, chickpeas, and pomegranate seeds. Finally, an Indian street chaat that completely guilt-free and healthy snack.

You can use any fruits which are available in the market like pineapple, mango, melon, watermelon, apple, orange, papaya and banana, and many more options are available at the shop. It’s an amazing and refreshing snack with sweet and tangy flavors.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium size peeled & boiled potatoes cubed
  • 1 large banana peeled & sliced
  • 1 large apple peeled & cubed
  • 2 small oranges segments
  • 1/2 cup grapes washed, de-seed & cut into halves
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds
  • Rock salt to taste (sendha namak)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Oil for frying as per requirement

Instructions
 

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • Take a bowl, add all fruits (banana, apple, orange, grapes) whatever is available except pomegranate.
  • Then add salt and black pepper powder.
  • Now squeeze out the lemon juice on the fruits.  this is so that the fruits (apple, banana) don't get discolored and also gives a sour hint to the fruits.
  • Toss it well so that spices combined well with the fruits.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes if you want or proceed further.
  • Heat oil in the pan.
  • Add potatoes and deep fry until golden and crisp on the low medium flame.
  • Drain the fried potatoes on the kitchen towel so that they absorb excess oil.
  • Before serving, mix the fried potatoes with the rest of the fruits.
  • Toss well.
  • Just before serving add pomegranate seeds and again toss it.
  • Serve this refreshing falahari fruit chat immediately.

recipe notes :

  • Dice fruits into small pieces or any desired shape.
  • You can use any fruit or vegetables which are available in season.
  • If you prefer more spices during fast, you can add it.
  • You can add a tbsp of sugar or honey or date syrup of jaggery syrup for added sweetness.
  • A few fresh mint leaves can also be added.
