We often make pizza in oven, but if we don’t have oven or there is no electricity then it can be made on pan with utter ease. Pizza prepared on pan is as delicious as prepared in oven.

Traditionally a italian cuisine recipe but very well popular all over the world. There are several variations and varieties of pizza recipe. However, this recipe is simple mini pizza recipe with yeast and baked on pan. The toppings can be changed as per the preference and even meat can be added for meat eaters.

Furthermore, cheese plays a significant role in the preparation of pizza recipe. While any processed cheese can be used for veg mini pizza recipe, however mozzarella is always recommended. Basically, mozzarella gives a proper elasticity, stretchiness and color to pizza.

Ingredients
  

Pizza dough recipe:

  • 2 cup Maida
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp active dried yeast
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • water if required for kneading
  • 2 tbsp dry flour for dusting

Mini pizza recipe:

  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup tomato chopped
  • 1/4 cup capsicum chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrot chopped
  • 5 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp chat masala
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 cup mozarella cheese grated
  • 1 tsp butter

Instructions
 

Pizza dough recipe :

  • 1.Collect all the required ingredients.
  • Pour luke warm water to a warm bowl. If you live in a very cold place, just warm up your bowl for proofing yeast. Firstly make sure the water is just warm. An ideal temperature of water is 40 to 43 C. Just dip your finger in the water to check if it is just warm. Hot water will kill the yeast and cannot be used further.
  • 3.Add yeast to warm water.
  • 3.Sprinkle sugar as well.
  • 4.Stir it gently. Allow this to rest undisturbed for 10 to 12 mins. The mixture must turn frothy and bubbly. If you fail to get a frothy mixture, do not proceed further with this yeast. It is inactive. So just discard this. Start again with fresh warm water, yeast and sugar. Repeat the steps from 2 to 4.
  • 5.When the yeast is doubled up, take a bowl add all purpose flour and 1 tsp salt.
  • 6.Now add the frothy yeast mixture to the flour before adding mixture stir it with a spoon.
  • Crumble the dough and mix to make dough. The dough will leaves the sides of the bowl but will be a bit sticky.
  • 8.Knead till the dough is soft, smooth and elastic. and also bounces back when pressed. if not, knead another 5 minutes.
  • 9.Now add 1 tsp of oil and gently coat the dough with oil all around. This helps to prevent dough from sticking and drying the dough to bowl.
  • 10.Pizza dough is ready.
  • 11.Tuck the dough and form to a ball.
  • 12.Now cover the bowl and allow to rest and rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • 13.Dough has raised and doubled in size indicating well fermented.
  • 14.Punch the dough with fist to release down the air.

Mini pizza recipe:

  • 1.Divide the dough into 9 balls and roll them between palms gently.
  • 2.Place the dough on dusted board or plate or tray.
  • 3.Flatten the dough by stretching with both hands.
  • 4.Prepare 3-4 base like this.
  • 5.Then prick with centre of dough with the help of fork to prevent pizza base from fluffing up like chapati.
  • 6.Spread tomato ketchup generously leaving the sides slightly.
  • 7.Then sprinkle some salt, black pepper powder and chat masala.
  • 8.Now spread 2 tbsp of grated cheese and then top with vegetables like tomato, onion, carrot and capsicum.
  • 9.Again sprinkle some chat masala.
  • 10.Then spread generous amount of grated mozzarella cheese over the base.
  • 11.Also sprinkle some mixed herbs or oregano or italian seasonings and chilli flakes.
  • 12.Heat a pan and gently brush 1/4 tsp butter in a pan.
  • 13.Then gently place the prepared mini pizza in the pan.
  • 14.Cover with a lid and allow to cook on low flame till the cheese melts completely. alternatively you can bake in oven in 500 degrees fahrenheit or 250 degree celsius for about 12 minutes.
  • 15.Once the cheese melts immediately cut into slices.
  • 16.Serve mini pizza hot with tomato ketchup.

recipe notes:

  • Vary the topping according to your choice with basil leaves for extra flavours.
  • Cover the pizza with a lid else the cheese do not melt easily.
  • Freeze leftover dough in a airtight container or zip lock bag greasing with oil. dough stays fresh for atleast a month.
  • Also knead the dough well, else pizza will be chewy.
  • The pizza dough can also be made in a food processor or electric mixer.
  • If the dough become sticky add some flour and vice versa.If the dough is not soft and a bit dry, then add some warm water.
  • You can saute the veggies lightly in butter or oil if you want.
