Sooji toast recipe | Instant Rava Toast | Crispy Bread Sooji Toast

Sooji toast is a perfect recipe for breakfast, makes a yummy evening snack and also can be packed in tiffin for kids. Its super scrumptious and tempting.

Sooji toast (rava toast) is a perfect snack item to serve in the morning breakfast
or as an afternoon tea time snack. This is a very simple, healthy, easy and filler breakfast dish.

A mixture of Sooji with finely chopped veggies is used as a topping on wheat bread slices, and the whole arrangement is toasted till perfectly crisp. A dash of curds lends a bit of tang to the recipe, and also helps to roast, while a sprinkling of chili flakes adds some spice to this tiffin treat, which stays good in the dabba for over 4 hours.

Basically, a bread toast recipe prepared from rava or sooji batter which is also known as eggless french toast recipe. It is an ideal breakfast recipe and certainly can also be a lunch box or tiffin box recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 White Bread slices
  • 1/2 cup Suji/Semolins/Rava
  • 1/4 cup Curd
  • 1/4 cup Onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup Tomato chopped deseeded
  • 1/4 cup Cucumber chopped
  • 2 tbsp Green Capsicum chopped
  • 2 tbsp Carrot grated
  • 3 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3 tbsp +1 tsp Water
  • 2 tbsp Butter for Cooking

Instructions
 

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • Take a mixing bowl add sooji and curd and mix it gently.
  • Further add all the veggies like onion, tomato, cucumber, capsicum, carrot and 3 tbsp of water.
  • Mix it very well.
  • Then add salt, black pepper powder, chilli flakes and coriander leaves.
  • Combine all the ingredients together.
  • When all ingredients are well combined then only add baking soda. In this recipe all ingredients are well combined so add baking soda and 1 tsp of water.
  • Again mix it very well. Mixture is prepared.
  • Take a bread slice and spread some prepared mixture evenly with spoon.
  • Likewise evenly spread batter on the other bread slices as well.
  • Heat a tawa for roasting the toasts and spread some butter over it.Grease the tawa well with some butter and let it heat sufficiently.
  • When the tawa is medium hot, reduce the flame to low and place the prepared bread slice over it to roast. Roast the bread slice on low flame until they get slightly brown from beneath.
  • When the bread slices turn slightly brown from beneath, spread some over the top and flip the sides.
  • Now roast the bread slice until they get golden brown in color. Keep checking the toast at regular intervals to prevent them from browning and roast from the other side as well.
  • When roasted from both the sides, take it off from tawa and place over a plate.
  • Similarly prepare rest of the Sooji toast as well.
  • Crispy and flavorsome Sooji toast are ready. Cut them diagonally or lengthwise as per your taste.
  • Serve steaming hot with green coriander chutney, tomato sauce or any other dip as per your taste and relish eating.

recipe notes for Sooji toast :

  • You can take white or brown bread as desired.
  • You can also add vegetables of your choice to the batter.
  • If desired you can make the toast without butter as well.
  • You can them in half vertically if desired and serve it.
  • You can use ghee or oil instead of butter to roast Sooji toast.
  • Since this batter is not fermented, adding baking soda makes the Sooji toast fluffy and soft.
  • On bread don’t spread mixture too thick else the Sooji toast will not turn crispy.
  •  It takes 3 to 4 minutes for roasting Sooji toast at once.
  • Roast Sooji toast on medium flame, else the toast will not be crispy.
