Tomato Cucumber Sandwich Recipe | Easy & Quick Sandwich Recipe

Tomato cucumber sandwiches can also be made for breakfast or as an evening snack. its a quick, simple and easy, no fuss sandwich recipe. It’s so quick that you could also make these when you are in no mood to cook and want something nutritious and filling to eat.

It is one of the easiest and quickest sandwich recipe to make. This simple sandwich recipe needs minimal ingredients and is healthy and filling. The seasoning in this sandwich is kept light so that one does not lose the natural flavor, tanginess, and taste of tomato and cucumber.

One can pack these sandwiches in a tiffin box for school going children or in a foil while traveling or going to a picnic. Though these Sandwiches taste delicious on their own, one can also serve them with green chutney or with tomato ketchup. They can also be accompanied with potato chips or French fries.

TOMATO CUCUMBER SANDWICH RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 4 white bread slices
  • 1 medium size cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1 big size tomato thinly sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder as required
  • Cumin powder as required
  • Butter as required

Instructions

  • Collect all the required ingredients.
  • To make sandwiches, take the bread slices.
  • Trim the edges of the bread. This step is optional.
  • Spread butter evenly on bread slices. Butter must be soft so that it can be applied on slices. If packing the sandwiches for tiffin box or picnics, then spread a generous amount of butter, so that the bread does not become soggy.
  • Place the thinly sliced tomatoes and spread them evenly over one side on the buttered bread.
  • Peel & slice the cucumber into very thin discs as well and place them on top of the tomato.
  • Sprinkle two to three pinches of black pepper powder, cumin powder, and salt on the tomato-cucumber slices.
  • Place the second on top of the first and press them together very gently. Although this sandwich tastes good when cold, you can also heat it on a pan for a couple of minutes, specially if you using slightly older bread.
  • Cut the tomato cucumber sandwich diagonally into 2 or 4 parts.
  • Serve tomato cucumber sandwich for breakfast or if making for tiffin box, then wrap the sandwiches in a cling film or aluminium foil and place it in the tiffin box.

How to make tomato cucumber sandwich (step by step instructions with photos) :

1.Collect all the required ingredients.

How To Make :

  • Use any bread of your choice, I used white bread.
  • If using salted butter, then you can skip the salt.
  • If you are making these sandwiches to take during travel, picnic or for tiffin box, then avoid salt. as the tomatoes and cucumber will release water due to the presence of salt and thus the sandwiches will become soggy and moist.
  • Use flavored cream cheese instead of butter for more flavor.
  • Add more raw veggies and make it a hearty veggie sandwich.
  • Onions, green chutneys, lettuce can also be added for extra crunch.
  • These sandwiches can also be made for children’s school tiffin as well as wrapped and taken while traveling.
