Turmeric Milk Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 cloves
- 2 green cardamom
- 5-6 whole black peppercorns
- 1 inch crushed ginger
- 1 tsp honey
Instructions
- Collect all the required ingredients.
- Take 2 cloves, 2 green cardamoms, and 5 to 6 whole black peppercorns in a mortar-pestle.
- Crush coarsely and keep aside.
- In a saucepan with a handle, add 2 cups of milk.
- Heat the milk on medium heat.
- Add 1/2 tsp turmeric and crushed ginger.
- Then add the crushed spices.
- Stir and mix well making sure everything is well combined.
- Bring to a low flame and simmer for 5 minutes. You don’t need to boil it but it should be nicely hot throughout.
- Switch off the flame, cover pan with a plate or lid and let it sit for another 5 minutes for the flavors to steep in.
- After 5 minutes, add 1 tsp honey and mix well. You can alternatively use sugar for sweetness or totally avoid it.
- Strain the golden milk using a strainer into serving cups.
- Sprinkle some crushed black pepper before serving.
- Serve your golden milk warm.
