Collect all the required ingredients.
In a medium-size frying kadai, pour some ghee and let it heat.

Stir the mashed potato continuously with the help of big spoon for 7-8 minutes.
After 3-4 minutes, you will see potatoes begins to gather around itself.
Stir potato continuously while roasting otherwise, the potatoes will stick to the pan.
Cook on medium heat until potatoes are slightly browned.
Now add the sugar, milk, and cardamom powder.
Keep stirring and the sugar will start to melt.
Keep mixing the halwa until the ghee separates and the halwa thickens.
It will take approximately 5-6 minutes.
After this add almond and cashew nuts.
Transfer it to a heat-proof dish and serve it warm.
You can select any dry fruit for mixing as per your likes and dislikes.
The more ghee you add the halwa will be tastier ...I have used a non-stick wok for this recipe - potatoes can become quite sticky and a non-stick surface works best if you are trying to cut the amount of ghee.
