Paneer Bhurji is a quick, delicious and one of the best paneer dishes of scrambled Indian cottage cheese sautéed in spicy tangy tomato onion masala and spices. It is a perfect dinner dish ready in flat 15 minutes.
This is a delightfully spicy paneer dish that can be served as an accompaniment or side dish in Indian dinner and it’s simply irresistible.

PANEER BHURJI RECIPE
Ingredients
- 250 gms Paneer (cottage cheese), crumbled or grated
- 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
- 1 cup tomato finely chopped
- 2 green chilli chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp oil or ghee
Instructions
- Collect all the required ingredients.
- Heat oil or ghee in pan or kadai.
- Once the oil or ghee heats up, add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle.
- Add chopped onions.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent or soft.
- Then add garlic-ginger paste and green chilies.
- Saute for a minute or until the raw smell of ginger-garlic goes off.
- Now add chopped tomatoes.
- Saute till the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
- Lower the flame and then add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala.
- Roast the spices on low flame for a minute.
- Add crumbled paneer and lemon juice.
- Mix and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally in between to prevent sticking.
- Do not overcook or paneer will become chewy.
- Add coriander leaves.
- Mix gently, making sure everything is combined well.
- Turn off the flame and transfer prepared paneer bhurji to a serving bowl.
- Serve paneer bhurji hot with roti or paratha.
